Coming with access needs
We want everyone at the festival. Here’s the honest picture of what’s accessible, what’s hard, and who to ask.
TerraTx is held in a working canyon, not a convention center — so we’d rather tell you the truth than make a promise the land won’t keep. The main grounds, stages, food court, and market are built to be accessible. The river trail is beautiful and uneven. Below is the straight story, area by area.

Arrival
Parking & the shuttle
Accessible parking is in the main lot, in the spaces nearest the gate. From there, a wheelchair-accessible shuttle runs a continuous loop between parking, the entrance, and the river flat throughout the day. If you need help on arrival, the welcome tent at the gate is staffed open to close.
On the Grounds
Getting around — the honest terrain
- Main grounds, food court & stages — firm, mostly level decomposed-granite and grass. Navigable with a wheelchair or walker; a companion is helpful on the grass after rain.
- Maker’s Row — flat and wide, with room between stalls.
- River trail & access — this is real canyon terrain: loose gravel, roots, and slopes down to the water. It is not wheelchair-accessible, and we won’t pretend otherwise. Staff can point you to the gentlest viewpoint of the river.
Comfort
Restrooms, water & a quiet place
Accessible restrooms are at the main grounds (near the food court) and riverside. Free water-refill stations sit alongside them and at the info tent.
Near the pavilion we keep a quiet, low-sensory space — shaded, away from the speakers — for anyone who needs to step out of the noise for a while. No need to ask; it’s open to all.
Support
Service animals & communication
Service animals are welcome everywhere on the grounds. (For everyone’s safety, the river is not a place to leave any animal unattended.)
ASL interpretation can be arranged for main-stage programming with advance notice, and large-print schedules and maps are available at the welcome tent. Ask, and we’ll sort it out.
